‘Haagse Eitjes’ is located in Ypenburg, on a terrain called ‘GAVI’’, which is close to the Prins Clausplein (Crossing A12-A4).
This location forms the logistic hub for the B-to-B delivery of fresh Rondeel eggs. Haagse Eitjes actively contributes to shorten the time from ‘farm to fork’, by supplying high quality fresh table eggs. These eggs are directly transported from various Rondeel farms to Hotels, Restarants and other clients in the Hague and surroundings. These Rondeel farms are packing centers as well.
100% electrical transport
The egg transport by ‘Haagse Eitjes’ is 100% electrical driven. This holds for the tranport from the Rondeel farms to the Hague, as well as for the distribution to our clients in the city. Electricity used is renewable and as much as posssible from Dutch sources.
Modern Laying Hen farm
‘Haagse Eitjes’ has some 140 laying hens, housed in a ‘Micro Rondeel’ ( a scale model of the Rondeel). this is an easy way to show the Rondeel idea to our clients. ‘Haagse Eitjes’ has realized a small city farm to produce top quality eggs in a responsible and sustainable system.
‘Haagse Eitjes’ is open as many times as possible. Therefore, one can see how the animals and the entrepreneur are doing there job. Daily fresh eggs are sold to consumers living in the immediate vicinity.
‘Haagse Eitjes’ uses the packages of Rondeel for 7 eggs, which are developped bij Rondeel and Paperfoam. These packages are fabricated from starch, which is a residual product in the proces of making fries.
